About Ozzy J

With over 20 years experience in Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga, John brings a deep and intuitive approach to yoga practise. His journey began in 1983 when he discovered Ashtanga, as a way to enhance his surfing strength and flexibility.

Over the years, he has explored the profound connections between movement, breath and mindfulness, integrating Zen, Qi Gong and Breathwork into his teaching. John has found that neuroscience is revealing that practices like meditation and yoga significantly impact the brain, leading to improvements in cognition, emotional well-being, and stress reduction. These practices can alter brain structures, functional connectivity, and neurotransmitter levels encouraging positive neuroplasticity; the lifelong capacity of the brain to change and rewire itself in response to the stimulation of learning and experience.

For John yoga is more than just a physical routine - it is a way to unite with nature, stay balanced and maintain a strong and flexible body, mind and spirit. At 60 John continues to evolve his understanding of wellbeing and mindfulness and loves to share the knowledge and energy of his practice.
